Maintenance tips for off-road motorcycles

Author:

Daily maintenance will extend the life of your off-road motorcycle. How can you extend the life of your motorcycle? It all comes down to ensuring that your car gets the right routine preventive maintenance. Here are nine tips to keep your motorcycle in good running condition.

1. Change oil frequently.

This may be the most important preventive maintenance you can perform. Oil is the blood of the engine. The oil helps to lubricate, cool, clean, seal and prevent rust from internal components, thereby minimizing friction. Over time, oil can absorb contaminants and moisture, reducing efficiency. Motor oil is the substance that makes the top or bottom of the car grip.

2. Adjust or lubricate the chain.

Lubricating the chain prevents it from rusting. Rusty chains make it harder for the engine to drive the wheels, thereby weakening a large part of the engine's horsepower. Your chain should be cleaned, maintained and adjusted regularly. Otherwise over time it will loosen and fall off the sprocket of the car. Cause unnecessary economic losses and personal safety hazards.

3. Check the large and small chain teeth.

Inspect the sprocket for warping or broken teeth or other wear. You only need to pull from behind the sprocket. If the gap exceeds 1/4 inches, replace the sprocket.

4. Check the bearing and lubricate it if necessary.

Most importantly, you need to lubricate every moving part of the car. You need to lubricate the swing arm bearings, steering wheel and wheels once or twice a year, otherwise the bearings will get stuck and the slider and wheels will not be able to drive.

5. Adjust the valve.

Over time, the valve will tighten. If the valve becomes tight, the heat will cause the valve or piston to melt the cylinder wall and melt each other. Therefore, adjust the valve regularly.

Keep the air filter clean.

Just like you, your motorcycle needs fresh air to survive. Dirty air filters can cause deposits such as dirt on the engine. When these particles enter the moving parts, the parts may be prematurely worn or even damaged. Therefore, the air filter needs to be cleaned, sprayed with oil, and then reinstalled. If you play in the desert, we recommend that you install sand net!

7. Maintenance of exhaust.

The clogged pipes make it more difficult for the engine to exhaust, thereby reducing power. This also makes it difficult to start the car. Therefore, make sure that the pipeline is not blocked, rusted, too much oil, and the exhaust pipe filler is not broken or leaking.

8. Pull wire lubrication.

Rusty cables will not only shorten the service life of motorcycles, but also bring major safety hazards. Especially rusty brake lines and refueling lines. Just lubricate the cable regularly to prevent rust.

9. Wash your motorcycle.

Develop the habit of cleaning motorcycles to prevent dust from entering moving parts.
